Is your daughter a tomboy or just not into the hyper-girly pink frilly things that dominate the girls clothing section at most stores? Are you tired of the limited options that you see for your daughters?
Girl Clothes That Are Not Girly
Girls can be just as stylish and on-trend without all the pink and glitter. A new line of girls clothes called Girls Will Be was launched by Austin mom Sharon Choksi. Inspired by her 8 year old daughter, Choksi wanted to create a clothing line for girls that would not be filled with pink and flowers but would reflect her daughters interests.
Instead of t-shirts with hearts and flowers Choksi offers tees featuring sharks, robots, airplanes, soccer balls, baseballs, etc. Choksi says she wants her brand to help girls find their own style and voice. And she hopes it will also help to break down the stereotypes that are so prevalent in the world of girls.
For a cool summer outfit your daughter can rock on the playground or in the backyard, grab some cute girls’ camis to pair with some denim shorts. Or for fall and winter, you can’t go wrong with some distressed skater shorts that feature whiskering and fading in all the right places to add a touch of rocker flair. For a cooler day, layer a long-sleeve tee or graphic tee over a sweater and a hoodie.
If you’re looking for some dressy clothes for your daughter a nice set of velvet pants, khakis or black school uniform slacks with a button down shirt and a cardigan might be a good fit for her. You could even find a dressy vest for her to wear to special events like dances or graduations.
